Manager – IM&F Advisory (ICAAP) – Professional services

Client is a leading consulting & advisory firm seeking to add to the Investment Management & Funds advisory team.  A great opportunity to develop your career within the Advisory space and a career path longer term.

The team is experienced in managing diverse issues including interpretation and application of existing as well as evolving regulatory developments. This may include design and implementation of risk management frameworks; ICAAP support and advice following regulatory review; training and awareness sessions with senior stakeholders on risk related matters


  • Specialist and technical understanding and application of risk and capital management rules and guidance to both audit and non-audit investment management clients
  • Develop opportunities and lead complex ICAAP engagements to deliver appropriate responses to regulatory concerns. Provide day to day leadership of a small team to deliver time constrained advisory projects, facing off to senior stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Preparation and delivery of presentations and seminars on risk and capital management; to audit and non-audit clients; and internally to funds professionals in audit, tax and advisory.Interpretation of FCA regulations and requirements and their application to individual client circumstances;Leading the annual ICAAP benchmarking survey and analysis for inclusion within the ‘Financial Reporting by Investment Managers’ publication, attending the steering group and leading the client targeting activity and business development opportunities
  • Delivery and provision of high quality risk and capital management engagements, leading small teams and working flexibly within larger, multi-disciplinary teams.Engagement management responsibilities, specifically; client risk management responsibilities, budgeting, fee negotiations, project management and financial performance analysis.

Qualifications and Skills required:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent – essential
  • Professional qualification in accountancy, risk management (e.g. IRM) or investment management (for example:CISI, CFA) – desired.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, operational risk methodologies and ICAAP reviews, including detailed understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations in the investment management sector.
  • Project management skills, demonstrated by a record of risk and capital management project delivery.
