Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and negotiate business within authority limits & risk appetite
  • Build relationships with brokers & customers
  • Contribute to the achievement of our growth and underwriting profit objectives
  • Act as a referral point for less experienced underwriters – coaching and development
  • Ensure delivery of first class service & productivity


Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Currently operating within a Property Investors team in an underwriting capacity
  • A track record of writing and retaining profitable Property Investors business
  • Capable of effectively evaluating all risks likely to be presented in the London Market and making quality decision regarding acquisition or otherwise
  • Established relationships with key placement decision makers
  • Excellent knowledge current underwriting issues attaching to Property Investors business
  • Good knowledge of specialist Property Investors wordings
  • Energetic, proactive, forward thinking and able to take decisions in a fast moving environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present credibly at all levels
  • Ability to build strong relationships  internally
  • Ability to respond positively to frequent change and pressure
  • Dip CII minimum with a willingness and commitment to study towards the ACII qualification
